  • Traffic Team Manager

    Our client who is at the forefront of the Civil rebuild in Christchurch has recently expanded their Traffic Management team and as a result are looking for a Team Manager who can assist in the day to day running of the team.

    Coming from a civil team management background, preferably traffic management, and having experience in all aspects of the industry, you will be an expert at motivating both the design and operational sides of the team to ensure efficient and safe traffic management over various sites across the city.

    The position will be predominantly office based with the occasional visit out to site, meaning the ability to relay concise information throughout your teams is essential whilst being able to supply accurate reporting to senior management and various teams to ensure practical steps are taken when keeping the construction sites safe for both staff and the public.

    The Role:

    • Design and implementation of Temporary Traffic Management Plans (TMP’s) according to CoPTTM standards.
    • Liaising with clients to ensure preparation is on time and TMP’s meet the required standards of the programme (including the safety of all persons entering the work zone)
    • Ensure timesheets and leave forms are completed for all staff in your team
    • Assist Traffic Manager in compiling reports by providing necessary data
    • Ensure all TMP’s are designed effectively and implement design changes where needed (as advised by Traffic Foreman)
    • Liaise with Christchurch Transport Operation Centre regarding traffic management plans and develop contingency plans for emergencies

    Technical Requirements:

    • STMS Level 2/3 Practicing (Preferable)
    • Prior experience designing TMP’s to CoPTTM standards
    • Computer literate (including experience using Invarion – Rapid Plan software)
    • Ability to work autonomously – with minimal supervision
    • Exceptional problem solving skills
    • Work extremely well under pressure
    • Exceptional organisational skills
    • Good written and verbal communication skills essential
