Projects_Mahy

Margaret Mahy Playground

The Margaret Mahy family playground was inspired by and named after one of New Zealand’s esteemed & popular author of children’s books. The theme was inspired by the natural environment of the Canterbury plains and port hills, with a central location for people of all ages and abilities can enjoy a diverse range of activities.

Turbo Staff supplied Machine Operators, Asphalt/Concrete placing, General Labourers & Painters to help with the development – mainly excavating of the site, landscaping, concrete & asphalt work.

Projects_Russell_Rd2

Russley Road (SH1)

Increased commercial and industrial activity, particularly in Hornby and at the airport, is creating more traffic and congestion at peak times. To ensure businesses based outside Christchurch are able to get their goods to and from the airport, the focus of the project is a four-lane SH1 from Belfast to the centre of Hornby to reduce congestion and improve safety. The Russley/Memorial Road roundabout will be upgraded to an over-bridge with a large signalised intersection below to help with the smooth flow of traffic.

Turbo Staff supplied Civil Carpenters, Machine Operators, Traffic Controllers and General labourer’s to help with all aspects of the upgrade from underground services, formwork, excavation (trenching backfilling grading) to general labour and traffic control.

Projects_Rannerdale

Rannerdale Veterans Care

Rannerdale Veteran’s Hospital and Home was founded around 1920 for the benefit of veterans who had served for their country. Currently building a new 10-bedded Hospital Wing specialising in providing hospital level care for Veterans with the aim to be completed by August 2016.

Turbo Staff supplied Quality Carpenters to help with the fit out of the new medical wing & general landscaping.

Projects_VIP

Ongoing Manufacturing

A Christchurch business manufacturing pre-nailed frames, trusses and steel beams with up to eight houses being manufactured per day. All frames and trusses are manufactured to client specifications, assembled with top quality workmanship, stacked in order and labelled for straightforward construction on site.

Turbo Staff supplied Quality Carpenters that can use the computerised saws and nailing machines to manufacture quality frames & trusses.

Projects_Justice

The Christchurch Justice & Emergency Services Precinct

This is the largest multi-agency government co-location project in New Zealand’s history with an estimated 2,000 people will work in or use the 40,000 square metre precinct daily. The Ministry of Justice, Police, Corrections, St John, New Zealand Fire Service, Civil Defence and emergency management functions of the Ministry of Civil Defence & Emergency Management, the Christchurch City Council and Environment Canterbury & The judiciary will also be housed in the precinct, in a way that recognises and ensures its constitutional independence. All agencies to move into precinct by mid-2017.

Turbo Staff supplied Duct Fitters, Pipe Fitters, Fire Sprinkler Installers that install air ducts, water pipes & fire sprinklers throughout the precinct.

Projects_Burwood3

Burwood Hospital Redevelopment

The $200 million redevelopment of Burwood Hospital is a four year project. Three new blocks, each three-storeys high, are being built. In total the new 30,000 square metre blocks will cater for 230 in-patients and 80,000 outpatient visits each year. The development includes a new outpatient’s area, extended radiology department, and new car parks. Due for completion mid 2016.

Turbo Staff supplied Plumbers & Pipe Fitters installing water pipes and plumbing throughout the hospital.
